Pinterest put together a 2024 trends report that’s not only beautifully organized but rather interesting. Some standout 2024 trends include badminton, conversation starters, credit card stickers, and bodycare (which we talked about a few issues back).
Depop debuts first-ever Trends Report (Depop)
Secondhand marketplace, Depop, released their first-ever consumer-facing trend report. Top trends to note are preppy uniforms with a touch of grunge, relaxed takes on quiet luxury and formal wear, and girlhood culture like florals and ballet flats.
The State of Fashion 2024: Riding Out the Storm (BoF)
The Business of Fashion and McKinsey & Company released their report on the 10 industry-defining themes for 2024.
Once high-flying SmileDirectClub, valued at $8.9 billion just 4 years ago, to shut down after last-minute push to save it collapses (Fortune)
SmileDirectClub's 2019 IPO valued it at $8.9 billion despite never turning a profit. At the same time, we’re also seeing Bird, the electric scooter maker that was once valued at $2.5 billion file for bankruptcy.
Chobani buys La Colombe for $900 million (FastCompany)
Greek yogurt maker, Chobani acquired La Colombe, a coffee shop chain and maker of canned lattes. La Colombe has a line of cafes and products. I personally love this acquisition for them.

Collateral Good, a Zürich, Switzerland-based climate-first VC, launched a new fund dedicated to “Sustainable Fashion” backed by premium fashion brand HUGO BOSS.
